Phebus, Patagonia Reserve Malbec 2021

Flag of Argentina

Phebus was founded in the late 90s by Herve Joyaux Fabre, a Bordeaux-native who emigrated to Argentina and saw the potential of wine production in Patagonia, which is cooler than Mendoza and produces fresher, "old world" style wines. After discovering an old Malbec vineyard, planted in 1908, he quickly put his French winemaking pedigree to work and has taken Phebus to what it is today. Patagonia Reserve Malbec 2021 is a gorgeously smooth red. The grapes are harvested and then 60% are aged in new French oak for 12 months. Elegant with a great structure and lovely ripe tannins. On the nose it is fresh with beautiful aromas of red cherries, liquorice and floral notes of violets, the latter which is indicative of quality Malbec. A great wine to pair with all kinds of grilled meats.
